How to Get to Know Your Freelance Clients Better

If you’ve ran a freelance business a long time, you may think you know everything about your customers. What you might know about your customers, though, may not be up-to-date.

For example, you might use old lingo that none of those customers have even heard of. You might not be hearing what they’re actually talking about, either—you might be missing the terms they use instead of your industry lingo.

And if you rely on your routine, you might miss out on the new places where those customers are, like a social media platform that you haven’t heard of, or even a competitor’s site that they check out from time to time.

So how do you change your listening routine so that you are where your customers are and speak their language? This graphic explains it.
